S.I. Cobas Italy: SOLIDARITY WITH GERMAN AUTOMOTIVE WORKERS FIGHTING TO DEFEND THEIR JOBS

September 7, 2026: S.I. Cobas Nazionale: INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY WITH THE STRUGGLE OF AUTOMOTIVE WORKERS IN GERMANY! ON SEPTEMBER 21, LET’S BLOCK THE BOSSES' PROFITS: THE WORKERS WON'T PAY FOR THEIR CRISIS! On September 21, automotive workers in Germany will cross their arms in a major day of strike and mobilization. As SI Cobas, we send our entire, fraternal, complicit, and militant support to the German workers taking up the fight against the criminal plans of corporate restructuring.

The collapse of profits for auto giants, starting with the Volkswagen Group, and the threat of mass layoffs for tens of thousands of workers are not an inevitability or a simple "transition crisis." This is the fierce face of global capitalism. After accumulating billions in profits for decades on the backs of the working class, the bosses and boards of directors now want to dump the costs of their strategic failures and market trade wars solely onto the shoulders of the working people.

We do not accept the rhetoric of "fake social peace" or the complicity of bureaucratic, sell-out unions. The automotive supply chain is strictly transnational: the attack on rights and jobs in Germany is the prelude to a social slaughter that will immediately hit the subcontracting industries, transport, and logistics in Italy and across Europe. The fragmentation of workers along national borders is the weapon that capital uses to divide us; our only response is the relaunch of conflict and international class unity.

Alongside the German workers, we strongly demand:

No layoffs, no closures! Intransigent defense of every single job and an immediate block on corporate austerity plans.

Reduction of working hours with equal pay! Work less, everyone works.
Real wage increases tied to the actual cost of living, against inflation and war economies that impoverish the proletariat.

Se toccano uno, toccano tutti! If they touch one, they touch all! The struggle of German workers is the struggle of all proletarians in Europe against exploitation and the arrogance of the bosses.
