INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY WITH AUTOMOTIVE WORKERS IN GERMANY

September 28, 2026: Today, Monday, September 21, 2026, STM Ford – Intersindical Valenciana is gathering in front of the German Consulate in Valencia to express our solidarity and support for the workers in the automotive industry in Germany. From Valencia, we are highlighting that the problems affecting auto workers know no borders.

Workers at Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, Audi, and Ford face serious threats to their jobs, wages, and working conditions, amid a context of planned factory closures, job cuts, cost-cutting measures, and actions that directly impact the workforce. One need only look at the situation at Ford in Cologne and the closure of the Saarlouis plant to see the consequences these decisions have on the working class.

We also denounce the policies promoted by the German government that run counter to the interests of workers and have a direct impact on employment and working conditions.

In light of this situation, we express our support for those who are defending their jobs and their labor rights.

The attacks by the major multinational automakers have an international dimension. Therefore, the response from those of us who work in these companies must also be international.

We do not want workforces in different countries to be pitted against one another to compete for jobs and increasingly worse working conditions. We want an automotive industry with a future, with stable employment and decent, valued working conditions.

The situation facing workers in Germany also affects us. What is proposed today in one factory may end up being used as an argument in another. That is why we consider it essential to strengthen solidarity and coordination among workers and unions in different countries.

The working class knows no borders. Neither do the decisions of large multinational corporations. That is why our solidarity and our struggle for jobs and labor rights must be international.

On this day of action in the automotive industry, we send a clear message from Valencia:

JOBS ARE DEFENDED TOGETHER.

LABOR RIGHTS KNOW NO BORDERS.

INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY OF THE WORKING CLASS.
