Third International Automotive Workers' Conference November 20 to 24, 2025 in Pune in India

Pune was decided as the conference venue. Northwest India enjoys a pleasant climate in winter. With a population of over 5 million, the metropolitan region of Pune is the eighth largest city in India. It is easily accessible internationally and is located 170 km south-east of Mumbai. The Pune-Chakan industrial region is home to many automobile and supplier companies: Tata Motors, Mahindra&Mahindra, Baja Auto, Force Motor, Volkswagen, Skoda, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Bosch, etc.. In many factories, strong trade union organization has been built up and strengthened over the years. The workforces in India have waged important struggles, such as at GM in Talegaon or Maruti Suzuki and Honda Motors in Manesar. A regional and national cooperation of automotive workers in India is under development and can achieve an important push forward with our 3^rd IAC.

The ICOG emphasized the need for a higher level of overall international cooperation and coordination of struggles.

The 3^rd IAC will last 4.5 days, from Thursday to Monday, November 20 to 24, 2025, with the possibility of subsequent participation in the Seminar of the World Womens’ Conference in Nepal from November 27 to 30, 2025.

The core components of the 3^rd IAC are the already proven four pillars: Decision-making Assembly of Delegates, Forums of International Group Cooperation, topic-related Forums and Workshops, mass and cultural program. The preparation and implementation of the 3^rd IAC will follow the basic principles of the International Automotive Workers' Coordination: self-organized, democratic, above party lines and financially independent. An appeal to attract donors and sponsors through a variety of fundraising initiatives from as many countries as possible was launched, with a target of 50,000 euros (approx. 54,000 dollars).

The ICOG focused on the preparation of the 3^rd IAC and will rely on teams from a multilateral assistance team (MAS) and volunteer brigadists. Many people are needed for this, e.g. interpreters and translators, who can register with the ICOG with immediate effect.

The ICOG cordially invites all militant automotive workers worldwide, their friends and families, trade unionists and trade union representatives, as well as organizations and parties to the 3^rd International Automotive Workers' Conference. We look forward to a fruitful discussion with a solidary culture of debate.

Country reports from Brazil, Germany and South Africa were prepared for the 7^th ICOG online meeting. The ICOG once again declared its solidarity with the Palestinian liberation struggle, adopted a resolution against the increased danger of fascism worldwide, as well as a declaration of protest and solidarity against the possible closure of the Brussels site with 3000 employees currently announced by Audi.

With the worldwide announcements and implementation of retrenchments and dismissals, as well as further attacks on the workforce in the context of the structural crisis in the transition to electromobility and digitalization, we are particularly challenged with the preparation of the 3^rd IAC. The fight to protect the natural environment against the global environmental catastrophe will be an important focus at the 3^rd IAC, as well as the fight against the worldwide rightward development and fascization in many countries and against the danger of a third world war.
