On March 21, 2024: Strikes and actions against racism, fascism and war!

4 March 2024: Coordinating Group Germany: Many trade unions, workers and young workers are taking part in the mass anti-fascist demonstrations of recent weeks. "Together against fascism" therefore means that workers belong at the forefront of anti-fascist protest and resistance.

Now the capitalists' association "Südwestmetall" has adopted a declaration with IG Metall and spoken out against all forms of racism, anti-Semitism and discrimination. The capitalist association acts as if it were the stronghold of anti-racism, anti-discrimination and democracy. The workers' movement has fought for democratic rights in the workplace and must continue to do so. Many works councils and shop stewards can tell you a thing or two about this, as even the few rights to which they are entitled under the Works Constitution Act are often curtailed. Corporations are not exactly pioneers in "anti-discrimination" either. Division within companies and between locations, even internationally, is far too lucrative for them to give up. Let us use the leeway provided by such public statements to fight against right-wing developments and fascization without allowing ourselves to be co-opted. The labor movement must not be subordinated, which is why we are advocating for a universal and full legal right to strike!

On February 8, 2024, IG Metall made proposals on its activist portal to "take the momentum in the fight against racism from the streets into the factories".

This is to be welcomed and many trade unionists are now taking up the proposal to organize a 15-minute strike on 21 March, the day against racism. For a ban on the AfD!
