25,000 demonstrate nationwide at the Bosch action day against planned job destruction
23 March 2024: Correspondence: On March 20, more than 10,000 colleagues protested outside Bosch headquarters against the announced 8,000 job losses. According to trade union IG Metall, there were 25,000 nationwide. In the sunshine, we from the International Automotive Workers' Coordination (IAC) greeted the participants as they disembarked from the queue of buses with a rally, short speeches and songs. This fully met the militant mood.

The colleagues were proud that they managed to get so many participants from the various locations. In the last few weeks alone, over 1000 new members have joined IG Metall. Whether from the automotive supply divisions, development, household appliances or power tools, we are a strong force when the Group workforce stands together.
In contrast, Frank Sell, Chairman of the General Works Council, emphasized the "common ground between the employees' livelihoods and securing the future of Bosch". The redundancy plans show that Bosch has no such common ground. Why appeal to this? We can only thwart the retrenchment plans through our resolute struggle. We have made this clear with our banner. We need long-term staying power and an offensive fight for jobs and apprenticeships. That's why we distributed the stickers for a 30-hour week with full wage compensation among our colleagues and collected donations of EUR 16.
We criticized the fact that IG Metall organizers tried to prevent the MLPD banners on the square. They even forcibly removed the banner: "Capitalism threatens humanity - the prospect of genuine socialism!" and covered up one with the demand for a 30-hour week with full wage compensation with another banner. When they justify this by saying "keep politics out of it because today it's all about jobs", this is unrealistic and only serves to cover up their anti-communism. They also checked the banner of us motorists to see if it said MLPD on it. Strengthen the trade union as a fighting organization and the lesson from fascism is that this includes the unity of workers across party and ideological boundaries except fascists!
