Statement of Solidarity with Stefan Engel

Stefan Engel, an internationally recognized workers' leader and Marxist-Leninist theorist, is facing trial on August 3, 2021, in his home country of Germany.  He is facing charges of being a "jeopardizer" by the right-wing Minister of the Interior, Horst Seehofer, two intelligence service chiefs and a police director.

Stefan has been deprived of basic democratic rights. He can be taken into preventive custody and has even been put on the “wanted” list - without having committed any crime. As a "jeopardizer," he is being equated with fascist terrorists.

The charge against Stefan, the leader of the Marxist-Leninist Party of Germany until 2016 and a prolific writer, is part of a coordinate campaign to criminalize communist revolutionaries.

The International Automotive Workers Coordination Group is working to develop international solidarity against this intensified anti-communist repression and the right-wing shift and fascization of the governments of the Philippines, Brazil, Colombia, India and, of course, Germany.

The struggle against the suppression of basic human rights is of concern to all workers worldwide.  One for all - all for one!

We stand in solidarity with Stefan Engel.
