Solidarity with the workers in struggle in GM São Caetano do Sul (Brasil)

GM metalworkers in São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo, have been on strike for an undetermined period since last Friday (October 1st). The strike was called because of GM's attempt to postpone the wage readjustment of 10.42% (referring to inflation over the period) and reduce the rights of workers.

In addition to GM playing wages down since 2013, in the São Caetano plant, job stability for injured workers is not for everyone. Only those who were hired before 2017 are entitled to this benefit. GM wants to keep the exclusion of the new ones in clause 42 and reduce the stability period of the old ones. With this maneuver of the automaker, gradually this right will disappear from the collective agreement.

The strike has the full support of workers in São Caetano, who are willing to keep their arms crossed until the company meets their demands.

We from ICOG, understanding the importance of internationalism to face the bosses and the withdrawal of rights, stand in solidarity with the workers in struggle in GM São Caetano do Sul!
