ICOG: Declaration of solidarity to the striking colleagues at Nissan in Barcelona, Spain

Dear colleagues, we congratulate you on the courageous start of your indefinite strike at Nissan in Barcelona. You will not let your democratic rights and freedoms be taken away under the conditions of curfew. Rightfully you fight resolutely for the preservation of your jobs and demand a future perspective.

Already at our successful 2nd International Automotive Workers' Conference in Vereenigung in South Africa on 19-23 February 2020, we passed a resolution to support your struggle. It says: "The Second International Automotive Workers Conference declares its support and solidarity with the workers of Nissan in Spain in their justified struggle. The decision of the Daimler board of management to stop the production of the pick-up destroys several hundred jobs. The Daimler workers are in solidarity with the struggle for every job in the whole Daimler Renault-Nissan corporation".

We make your struggle known internationally and especially in the factories of Daimler, Renault and Nissan and organize solidarity. You are not alone in your struggle, but you are part of the struggle of all automotive workers worldwide. Against all attacks and the destruction of jobs on the background of the whole crisis of the capitalist system, we fight together for a future worth living. For this purpose we have decided with 43 delegates from 19 countries at the 2nd International Automotive Workers' Conference on an International Program of Struggle for the automotive workers and their families. An important demand in the fight for every job is the 30-hour week with full wage compensation.

We wish your strike full success!

Your struggle is also our struggle!

Long live international solidarity!

With solidarity greetings
