With great respect and appreciation, as the IAC/ICOG we would like to express our unconditional support and unwavering solidarity with you in your struggle against against plant closures and jobs cut. We are aware of the plans to cut 100 000 jobs worldwide in VW whilst in Germany alone, four plants employing thousands of workers are set to be closed.

August 17, 2026: Correspondence: Valencia, (Venezuela), August 2026 — With 60 workers in attendance, this strategic forum aimed at reorganizing the working class was held in Carabobo State. This activity builds on the work assigned by the 3rd International Automotive Workers’ Conference, held in Pune, India. The main objective of the meeting was to reorganize and strengthen workers’ structures, as well as to maintain coordination of joint actions at the international level.

Today, August 13, 2026, Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) Chairperson Jerome Adonis was subjected to an attempted arrest after a warrant was issued over fabricated charges of violating Article 153 of the Revised Penal Code in connection with this year’s Labor Day protest. On this same day 44 years ago, under the Marcos Sr. dictatorship, former KMU Chairperson Felixberto Olalia Sr. and twelve other unionists were also arrested in Manila.

Capitalist competition is a battle of annihilation that is to be waged on the backs of us workers.
ICOG's Statement of Solidarity with Our Colleagues at the Volkswagen Group
June 29, 2026: Dear Colleagues, Now the cat’s out of the bag. The *Bild* newspaper, a mouthpiece for German imperialism, has published the plans of the Volkswagen Group Executive Board. They intend to cut 100,000 jobs and close four car plants in Germany alone. At the same time, the German government is announcing drastic cuts to health insurance, long-term care insurance, and pensions, and plans to abolish the eight-hour workday.
